Rear discs will improve your braking efficiency without a doubt matey.

Check if your car has a rear brake compensator valve fitted as these are prone to seize up and could have contributed to your problems ?

Because the front brakes do approx 75% of the braking therefore when you brake hard all the weight transferes to the front of the car making the rear wheels very light and skid easily. The front wheels now have all of the weight over them so this creates more traction and harder to skid.

This is a great little trick to get a front wheel drive car sideways, when entering a corner under acceleration suddenly back off the throttle when you corner, this transferes the weight to the front wheels and the rear wheels become very light and therefore have very little traction, they skid around to the side easily causing the car to go broadside thumbsup To regain grip simply accelerate again and the weight transferes to the rear wheels again and you get the grip back tease

I think you'd be asking for trouble if you looked into a rear brake conversion, as Scooby says about 75% of the braking comes from the front end and by fitting bigger/better brakes you can easily get the car to swap ends confused

However, you could do a conversion but also fit a Brake Bias Valve that you can adjust, to make the front/rear braking harder or lighter. The 'valve' would be mounted inside the car and you can tweek/finetune the brakes under test conditions.

Get the hubs off an Astra GSi and put them on. Not really needed though, people do it for cosmetic reasons mostly. Think of it as a blessing your back end doesn't lurch out!!
I've got a pair of hubs here as well. smile

The rear beam simply bolts on. Drop the handbrake cables, brake pipes, rear shock absorbers and unbolt the beam, Sorted happy

I think the Astra beam is too wide for the Corsa, you'll have to do the hubs alone.
There's a bit of drilling involved, but just one a couple of the original holes, it takes about five minutes to drill a hole through, the hub is lined up with the bearing. Astra ones also has ABS?
I'm also not sure if the Corsa has the same servo as the Astra (astra one might be bigger), I've put an Omega V6 servo in and the difference is very noticable.

Or you could go the distance and use Cavalier V6 struts and hubs. laugh
