We (USA, UK etc) thought we could push Putin about, Putin being a true Russian is showing that nobody pushes him about.

USA doing its usual bit on creating instability in the world and the UK going along with it.

For all the money, death and destruction the "allied" forces have been throwing at the world, how much stability has been achieved???

None really. However, things are hotting up all over the region and in a bid to create an unstable situation with a hidden agenda, we are not privy to what goes on behind closed doors. It has been proven countless times how the public were misled in an attempt to cover up the real issues and used as bargaining chips etc.

We haven't a clue what truly goes on, and today Iran are accusing Israel and Saudi Arabia of a plot to stir unrest in the country. Iran holding air Force drills to show off their 'might' now.

ISIS being run out of Mosul, from the North, South and East. Strange it is that tonight someone gives a warning that EU should prepare for returning Jihadists. They will be moving towards Europe. Of course they will, it's their only route out. Surely someone must have known that ? Yes, of course they did.

Afghan and Taliban having secret peace talks in Qatar.
Kuwait dissolves parliament over fuel price row.

Yes USA and UK have been involved, but at the same time we all know the Middle East has been a hot potato for a very long time, and we shouldn't be so arrogant as to think we pull all the strings, because we most certainly do not in that part of the world. Putin has now got a foot hold with his naval port of Tartus Syria , on the Med., Israel and Putin had secret talks a number of months ago ....it's all going on under our noses but we actually know very little, apart from the fact that thousands of people have been killed and USA and UK play a part along with Germany, Italy, France etc. etc. None of this has been by chance in my opinion, and Putin has seen his opportunity to make his presence be felt. He's got 20 million Muslims in his country, can you imagine what would happen if he actually was thought to be 'siding' with anyone other than Syria ?

So was Northern Ireland, we didn't expect other super-powers to come wading in creating an even bigger mess.

No country can survive without trading (even excluding food and medicine), its much cheaper in money and life to give lucrative trade deals than to throw bombs at them.

Loads of wars have ended by attrition, look at the Argentinian occupation of the Falklands or even many German soldiers who surrendered towards the end of WW2.

How on earth are ISIS getting ammunition supplies into Mosul with all the technology we have these days?

Even North Korea has extensive trade - some of it with the EU!

According to Russia, Turkey are supplying ISIS with arms, weaponry and military hardware. Also said to be smuggling oil from ISIS across the border to Turkey.

USA were involved in supplying Ireland with funds. Americans with Irish decent in New York raised funds for the IRA for years.

I think the middle east has had far more serious conflicts since 1950's. Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Israel, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Yemen. Pre 1994, that was round one, now they are having round two or even three in some places.
Yes, Tony Blair waded into Iraq, but certainly now, no Western country is wading in, they know full well what the implications could be, and they generally go into these wars with Nato or in response to an agreement with other countries. Just like Assad wanted Russia to support him. I still believe that Israel are in their pulling the strings in this mounting conflict and an ex Israeli former top aide is said to have been involved in supplying arms to Assad’s opponents.

This 'might' help us understand a bit more......

http://tribune.com.pk/story/1202110/explainer-syrian-crisis-world-war-iii/

•Assad is fighting because he wants to continue ruling Syria.

•The rebels are fighting because they want to overthrow Assad and grab power.

•Hezbollah is part of the conflict because it is supporting Assad for sectarian reasons.

•ISIS is part of the conflict because it wants to control Syrian territory and expand as part of its caliphate.

•Iran is involved because it wants a Shia-controlled Syria.

•Gulf States are involved because they want Sunni-controlled Syria.

•Russia is involved because it has good ties with the Assad family, supplies massive amounts of weapons in military contracts to Syria, has a key naval facility in the country, wants to limit American influence in the region and sees Assad’s Shia regime as an opposition to growing Sunni militancy.

•Turkey is involved because it wants to keep Syrian Kurds in check as it sees them as an extension of its own Kurdish population which has been demanding autonomy for decades.

•USA is involved because it believes Assad has committed atrocities and must step down (in support of Saudi demands), to end Syria-Iran nexus and to control ISIS.

4) While these are the main foreign players, so many other countries are also involved in the conflict in one way or another:

•Algeria: The country has been opposing disciplinary measures against the Syrian government.

•Belarus: In support of Moscow, the country offered air strikes in Syria.

•China: This year, senior military officials announced their intention to provide personnel training and humanitarian aid to Assad’s government. China has long upheld the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries and views Assad’s regime as legitimate.

•France: As it opposes Assad and mistrusts Iran, it has been supporting anti-government forces. Many believe the intervention is an attempt to reinforce itself as a great power.

•Iraq: ISIS has taken over parts of the country bordering Syria.

•North Korea: Militia units from the country are believed to be present in Syria in support of Assad.

•Lebanon, Jordan and Europe: Millions of refugees have taken refuge in these countries, making them a vital party to this conflict.

•UK: The country has been involved in bombing raids against ISIS in Syria.

•Venezuela: Hugo Chavez supported Assad and had supplied diesel to fuel military tanks. The country also announced to take 20,000 refugees.

N.B.
The ironic thing about Hugo Chavez and his promise to take 20,000 refugees...his country, Venezuela is on the brink of starvation and civil war itself.

Thinking back to Ireland. There was a lot of outside involvement. I can remember arriving at Dublin. We'd been sailing all over the Med and to the Arab countries. Lebanon being another corrupt port of call. As the ship was shot at, and they blackmailed the Captain for duty free fags and booze, before they would allow us to dock, it didn't build confidence !
Getting back to Dublin, the ship was held up for days, whilst they searched the thing from top to bottom, looking for arms. Every tiny locker , drawer , under the mattresses, everywhere. They were expecting to find something brought in from Lebanon. So, assumably this was nothing new.

Which is in breach of international law, it is forbidden by the United Nations to overthrow a foreign Government.

Not that is has ever stopped America (who ratified the United Nations in 1945) - Iran 1953, Guatemala 1954, Congo 1960, Dominican Republic 1961, South Vietnam 1963, Brazil 1964, Chile 1973 ... then it gets very fuzzy in this century.

With all that in mind, why is John Kerry the Diplomat in all these affairs. He is a politician for the Democrats , and why was Tony Blair put in position of Middle East Peace Envoy. Who gave him the job , and if USA are such trouble makers, why John Kerry ?( a man who has tirelessly tried to find a solution)

Many thanks Granny for that bullet point guide to who's interested in Syria and why. I certainly learned a few things there. I understand from the News today that Russia is making comments about the legitimacy of Finland's independence from them. Not a good time to be neighbours with Russia.

Good run down thanks granny.

Regarding this bit though

I fancy that America doesnt bother itself too much about other nations atrocities .More like its just protecting its base there, and looking after its own interests albeit indirectly and , like their Israeli mates, they'd like a weaker leader there to lean on in the future when they fancy more meddling.Neither do they like the Puting/Assad closeness. If it was anything about atrocities, why do they cuddle up to Saudi where human rights are horrific ?

Russian Warships In English Channel

A flotilla of Russian warships passed through the English Channel en route to Syria on Friday.

Two British naval ships shadowed the vessels. with the Ministry of Defence saying they would be "man-marked every step of the way" while near UK waters.
