Mate of mine is looking for a decent car for his money and looked at buying damaged cars and repairing them. He found This one Has anyone got any experience in buying damaged cars and fixing them up, would it cost alot of money to repair this one?

The car is a CAT C meaning its gonna be listed and will show up as an insurace write off on an HPI check.
Whats the Car worth it it was straight? £2000?
Need to find out if there are any Docs with the Car, if there arnt any, he will need to apply for them, and Im 95% sure the car will need and SVA test when fixed to ensure its road worthyness.
If he is in the Bodywork business, or knows someone who can do it very close to cost, and hes planning on running round in it till the end of its life, then it may prove to be a cheap car.
If hes buying to sell, then the HPi could prove a bad selling point, and if hes not in the business its wont be cheap to fix - if the boot floor has gone, itll need "Jigging" to get straight, and thats before panels / lights / paint / parts.
